Het ontbreekt aan een specifieke mbo-opleiding die zich richt op instrumentatie en onderdelen voor de ruimtevaart en astronomie. De pps ontwikkelt een specialisatie Instrumentation for Space en biedt daarnaast bedrijven en (onderzoeks)instellingen de mogelijkheid om samen met studenten innovatieve opdrachten uit te voeren (zowel op school als bij bedrijven).
