Associazione formazione professionale del Patronato San Vincenzo” (AFP Patronato) was founded in 1956 with the aim of giving to young people in economic and social difficulties professional and technical competences and abilities. The association considers continuing education as a fundamental and strategic resource for social and economic development of companies and it always looks for new formative and learning methods. Activities: 1. AFP Patronato leads three vocational training centers with about 1200 pupils and about 100 teachers/trainers. Four-year long vocational courses allow people to obtain a “vocational qualification” certificate; 2. Agenzia per il Lavoro, is an agency offering services for the job seekers and unemployed, in order to help them to get in or to reintegrate in the job market and to reskill themselves, thanks to vocational training and career guidance courses; 3. Continuous education and lifelong learning courses Courses aimed to implement educational qualification and vocational training. These courses are designed for employed, unemployed and job seekers, freelancers, companies’ managers. This kind of courses aims to approach attendees to both new technologies and production evolutions/changes and to guarantee them professional development and increasing employment chances; 4. Apprenticeship Courses for minors and adults apprentices. AFP Patronato also develops innovative projects in the fields of Social Inclusion, Work Inclusion, and European mobility, Immigration, International Cooperation, Co-working, NEET and Information Technologies.

| Current level of involvement in Vocational Excellence: | AFP implemented AFP TOOLS an innovative project that could become an Italian and European best practice. The project is a concrete proof of the effectiveness of collaboration between private and public sector. This collaboration is the basis to implement strong projects that are going to ameliorate social inclusion and to empower local community in its engagement in the educational path of youngsters. AFP TOOLS is an experimental project arising from a careful need analysis of the Bergamo territory (IT) and of the local mechanical sector needs together with an AFP Patronato desire for renewal of its VET offer both in terms of equipment of labs for learning and in terms of alliance with local companies. The AFP TOOLS and its realization is driven from the digital innovation that need to be embedded in the teaching and learning practices.
