ANFA is a non-for-profit sector organisation managed by representative employer and employee organisations of the French automotive services sector, i.e. all vehicle-related activities after production with a workforce of about 500 000 people and 150 000 businesses. The social partners have given ANFA the mandate to promote employment and the renewal of the sector’s workforce. One of its tasks is to make VET correspond to the needs of the sector and to put a special emphasis on apprenticeship training. To do so, it supports and funds VET providers, trains trainers and promote European cooperation. To contribute to the continuous improvement of VET provision, ANFA works with a network of 80 partner VET centres across the whole of France. This network makes up 70% of the about 30 000 apprentices in dual training. ANFA helps VET centres adapt their pedagogical approaches and teaching practices to recent legal and technological developments. ANFA also has an observatory for skills and jobs and is involved in qualification design and the promotion of the sector and its professions. ANFA is also the promoter of an ongoing national "Programme d'Investissements d'Avenir'" (PIA) dedicated to the digitization of automotive services. The project investigates technological and regulatory changes, for example regarding connected garages and vehicles and their impact on professional activities, skills and VET provision. ANFA has longstanding experience with European and International projects. It designs and promotes mobility projects and is involved in many cooperation and cartnership projects for the exchange of good practice and innovation. ANFA is an active member of NETINVET, a European network of over 100 schools and training centres as well as professional organisations and associated companies in the sectors of International Trade, Transport & Logistics and Automotive.
