Jyväskylä Educational Consortium Gradia renews learning and working life. We provide students of all ages as well as corporate customers with opportunities to develop their competence and business.
Gradia consists of the vocational institutions Gradia Jyväskylä and Gradia Jämsä as well as three general upper secondary schools – Jyväskylän Lyseo Upper Secondary School, Schildt Upper Secondary School and Jyväskylä Upper Secondary School for Adults – and Gradia Internal Services, Gradia Properties, and Gradia Restaurants. Gradia Jyväskylä also provides basic education and basic education in the arts.
21,000 students study at Gradia, and the number of staff is 1,100. In 2020, our turnover was 101 million euro. Gradia Education Services Ltd. is also a part of the Gradia Group.

Current level of involvement in Vocational Excellence: | Gradia’s entrepreneurial learning models are highly distinguished and awarded previously e.g. by European Comission VET Exellence Award 2019 The Federation of Finnish Enterprises and the Ministry of Education and Culture. All students can gain entrepreneurship skills, irrespective of the educational sector. In 2018 Gradia had over 500 students who took part in co-operatives or create enterprises their run as a learning exercise. Students of Gradia have the possibility to acquire entrepreneurial skills according to their needs as an integrated part of their studies and by participating in training and events provided by EduFutura. EduFutura is a joint venture of the educational institutions Gradia, JAMK University of Applied Sciences and the University of Jyväskylä. The Startup Factory, responsible for pre-incubator and incubator activities, is part of the entrepreneurial ecosystem created by EduFutura and the City of Jyväskylä. The ecosystem provides students with broader opportunities and networks for learning entrepreneurship. It produces new, successful companies in Central Finland and strengthens and renews the competitiveness of existing companies. |
