Mediterranean Exporters Associations (AKIB) is one of the oldest institutions in Türkiye, which has been operating since 1940, and is currently one of the 14 exporters' associations in our country, serving its members in the Mediterranean basin of our country. With approximately 29,000 members and 86 employees, AKİB is a professional chamber that is a public institution affiliated with the Ministry of Commerce of the Republic of Turkey. Although there are 8 sub-unions affiliated with the Mediterranean Exporter Union, fresh fruit and vegetables, textile and raw materials, ready-made clothing and apparel, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, chemicals and products, furniture, paper and forest products, aquatic products and animal products and cereals and oilseeds. and its products. Our institution, which aims to increase exports in qualitative and quantitative terms, has focused on informing its members about green transformation with the publication of the European Green Deal and has accelerated its efforts to raise awareness on this issue. In this context, with the grant support received from the Development Agency, which uses the financial resources of the European Union for the development of our region, the first project of the Institutional Capacity Development Trainings on Preparation for the European Green Deal and the Compliance Process with the aim of increasing awareness about the European Green Deal and informing its members on green transformation topics. The stage was completed with the participation of 13 employees. The training modules of the series are still ongoing, and the final project outcome is that the trained employees will participate in field studies and mentor our members in their transition to a planet-friendly production model.

In addition, awareness raising and awareness trainings on due diligence corporate social responsibility are organized at regular intervals, and green transformation is led by training on subjects such as carbon footprint calculation and water footprint calculation and by collaborating with companies that provide services in this field.
