MIDDLE BLACK SEA DEVELOPMENT AGENCY
The Middle Black Sea Development Agency (OKA) is a public institution established in 2008. The Agency employs 37 personnel. OKA aims to ensure sustainable development of the TR83 Region (Middle Black Sea Region), which includes Amasya, Çorum, Samsun and Tokat provinces, through its innovative, competitive resource allocation mechanism, effective monitoring and evaluation functions, through research, measures and policies in social, economic and cultural areas. The Agency consists of the Board of Directors, which acts as the decision-making body, the development board, which consists of representatives from public institutions and organizations in the region, the private sector, civil society organizations and universities, and the General Secretariat, which acts as the advisory body. There are 4 units affiliated to the General Secretariat and 4 Investment Support Offices (ISOs) serving in 4 provinces of the Region. OKA, which defines its vision as “To be a pioneer in achieving healthy and sustainable development by activating local dynamics in its region, and an agency that is respected, recognized and effective on national and international platforms.”, enriches its work with national and international collaborations. The agency has the title of Development Agency "that carries out the most EU projects in Türkiye". The institution, which is a member of EURADA, the European Development Agencies Association, continues to share experience and knowledge in the international arena. It also organizes joint training and seminar programs to increase the capacity, knowledge and experience of other public and private sector organizations and civil society organizations serving in the Region at national and regional levels. The priority areas of work of the institution are "tourism and branding, value-added production and export, entrepreneurship, vocational training, youth and women employment".

| Current level of involvement in Vocational Excellence: | OKA is one of the important actors in the field of vocational education in the region where it operates. In addition to the comprehensive activities it organizes for vocational education, it also provides financial support for infrastructure. Preparation of the "TR83 Region Vocational and Technical Education Summary Current Situation Report" and the "TR83 Region Future Professions Workforce and Vocational Education Sector Analysis Report", organization of Project Cycle Management (PCM) Trainings, execution of entrepreneurship programs for high schools, organization of the "Future Business Conference" can be given as examples of activities. The theme of "vocational education" is a common subject that cuts across all the activities of the Agency and emerges as a field of work that maintains its importance and relevance in every period. The Agency continues to be an active player in this field with the synergy it creates by using both its own resources and bringing together relevant stakeholders. |
