"Progetto Utile" is a transformative initiative developed by Dismeco s.r.l. and the metropolitan city of Bologna, in collaboration with key partners including Hera, CNA, Emil Banca, and Aires. Beyond the recovery and regeneration of household appliances, the project uniquely integrates a vocational training component. This aspect emphasizes the development of practical skills, aligning certified industrial excellence with green economy policies and fostering the well-being of the local community. Throughout 2023, Dismeco plans to donate approximately 300 reconditioned washing machines to the metropolitan community welfare fund 'Dare per Fare.' These appliances, in perfect working order, will be distributed to individuals facing fragile social and economic conditions in the metropolitan area. What sets this initiative apart is its commitment to vocational education and training, empowering individuals with hands-on skills that are immediately applicable in the field. The distribution process occurs monthly, responding to requests from territorial networks combating poverty, including associations, foundations, cooperatives, parish Caritas, and Territorial Social Services. VOLABO, the managing body of the Volunteer Service Centre, plays a central role, collecting requests and organizing a distribution calendar based on the actual availability of washing machines. This not only facilitates community engagement but also provides a platform for practical learning. As part of this circular economy initiative, Marzabotto will host a vocational training course managed by CNA Bologna and Ecipar, focusing on installers and maintenance technicians of reconditioned household appliances. This training aspect ensures that individuals acquire skills relevant to the industry, enhancing their employability and contributing to the local workforce. Hera's contribution in providing appliances for regeneration and Emil Banca's support, financing an environmentally friendly vehicle for transportation, are pivotal. The new delivery system, utilizing less polluting means of transport over shorter distances, not only emphasizes environmental sustainability but also aligns with the educational objectives of the project. Project progress monitoring will be jointly managed by the Metropolitan City of Bologna, VOLABO, and Dismeco, ensuring that both the welfare and educational aspects of the initiative are effectively realized. By the end of 2023, VOLABO will provide a detailed account of the washing machines donated to various local stakeholders throughout the year, reflecting the impact of on both individuals and the community. The project aligns with the objectives of the Emilia-Romagna Region's "Pact for Work and Climate" and the Metropolitan Pact for Work and Sustainable Development of the Metropolitan City of Bologna, showcasing a commitment to both vocational education and environmental sustainability.
