The General Directorate for Special Education and Guidance Services

The General Directorate for Special Education and Guidance Services (ORGM) carries out its activities in two main fields: "special education services" and "guidance services." To provide education access for the individuals who need special education, to increase the quality of special education services, providing educational, personal, and vocational guidance services to students, parents, and teachers is the basis of the work of the General Directorate. The institution is the most authoritative institution and policymaker in Turkey regarding special education-vocational education and guidance services.

Current level of involvement in Vocational Excellence:Our Ministry; It provides vocational training in 18 fields to 15,000 students with mild intellectual disabilities or mild autism in 210 institutions. These students are between the ages of 14-27. In order to strengthen the vocational education of these students, we completed the establishment of a center of excellence in two schools in Malatya and Gaziantep provinces of Turkey in 2023, with the support of UNICEF. These centers of excellence; It works to support the professional development of teachers, to work for students' access to internship and employment, to ensure sector education cooperation, and to produce projects in these areas. We plan to establish 5 centers of excellence in 2024.
