Bursa Coşkunöz Education Foundation (CEF), which is the work of the exemplary formation created by M. Kemal Coşkunöz by supporting his achievements in the industry with social responsibility projects, reaches the future as a valuable legacy in the field of education with Kemal Coşkunöz's vast foresight.
Since 1988, CEF has been providing VET facilities to the individuals who have not enough opportunity to take a qualified training in the theoretical and practical application-oriented classrooms, workshops, and laboratories, CEF has continued its facilities related with VET, scholarships, grants, incubation programs and supports. Continuing to work in order to respond to the demands of the private sector, public and society for vocational and technical education, the foundation stands out as an exemplary organization in national and international platforms.
Until today, 34.000 people have benefited from Coşkunöz Education Foundation programs.
Main Training Programs and Supports
1. Vocational Education Projects
o Vocational Training Program:
Vocational Training Program is the first and most important project of CEF since its establishment. The aim of this program is to provide general high school graduates with a profession and to bring them to the society and at the same time to meet the qualified personnel need of the industry. The trainings within the scope of the "Vocational Training Program" are given at workshops and classes at the foundation and participating workplaces, five days a week for 21 months between 07:30 and 17:30. During this program, students receive a total of 4300 hours of training. To date, 423 people have graduated from the programs organized over 33 times.
Students who successfully complete the Vocational Training Program with the protocol signed between Tophane Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School with the approval of the Ministry of National Education can obtain a Vocational High School diploma approved by the MoNE. In addition, participants are provided with food, service, books, stationery, clothes, shoes, food aid and training scholarships. There is no compulsory service requirement for students who graduate from the program. In addition, studies are carried out for the employment of graduate students. For example, 2020 graduates were completed with an employment rate of 95%, and most of graduates were employed at Ford Otosan A.Ş., one of the largest companies in Turkey.
o A Leadership Development Program: “Your Efforts, Our Future”
“Your Efforts, Our Future” project designed and launched co-jointly by the Coskunöz Education Foundation and the Provincial Department of National Education of Bursa. The aim is to carry vocational and technical high schools into the future by improving the administrative approaches of School Principals, shape students’ lifelong learning by increasing self-awareness and convey the expectations of the business world in a systematic way.
o Additive Manufacturing Training and Experience Center:
Evaluating the requirements of Industry 4.0 and employment needs, Foundation established Additive Manufacturing Training and Experience Center in 2020. Training activities are carried out at the center with 3d printers, scanners providing training on different production models such as VAT Photo polymerization, Powder Bed Fusion and Material Extrusion and Selective Lazer Me, the center also offers training participants the opportunity to experience different additive manufacturing technologies. The Center, which is the first private training center in its subject in Turkey, currently offers 3 types of Additive Manufacturing Trainings at high school and university level free of charge. At the same time, advanced training programs are available for professionals who have invested in additive manufacturing. the trainers were selected from the university trainers who do additive production studies in Turkey and Europe. At the same time, there is the possibility of a globally valid certificate.
o Data Science Specialist Training Program:
The program is a project initiated within the scope of decent jobs for the future, due to the renewal and change of jobs under the influence of industry 4.0. In this project, STEM graduates from different parts of the country get a new profession with a program of 18 weeks and 180 hours. At the end of the program, unemployed STEM graduates find employment as Data Science Specialists.
o VR and Online Learning Training and Experience Platform for the Business World
“Let-X” platform provides business world trainings to users in a digital environment with high-quality and realistic visual content enriched with cutting-edge technology.
Training contents are developed by expert instructors and industry professionals and prepared in accordance with all the relevant rules and legislations. Occupational Health and Safety trainings are offered to users in online cloud environment and with VR technology on “Let-X” platform. The trainings cover all the mandatory Occupational Health and Safety Regulation requirements in Turkey and are in compliance with the legislation.
o Specialization Training Program:
Specialization Training application started in the 2004-2005 academic year and the aim of the program is to prepare the young people who have graduated from vocational high school or vocational high school but could not find the opportunity to convert their theoretical knowledge into practice by specializing in the fields of machinery and molding. Within the scope of the "Specialization Training", students are given five days a week between 07:30 and 17:30 in workshops and classrooms at foundations and participating workplaces. During this program, students receive a total of 2400 hours of training. 32 people have graduated from the programs organized to date.
o Orphanage Children Vocational Program:
A vocational training program is organized in order to ensure their integration and take a step into life with a significant advantage by acquiring a profession. Students who successfully complete the program with the protocol signed between M. Kemal Coşkunöz Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School with the approval of the MoNE can obtain a Vocational High School diploma. In addition, participants are provided with food, service, books, stationery, clothes, shoes, food aid and training scholarships. There is no compulsory service requirement for students who graduate from the program. However, efforts are being made to employ graduate students.
2. Scholarships and Grants
o CEVHER Grant Programme:
CEVHER Grant Program aims to support the projects of public education institutions operating in the field of vocational and technical education in different regions of the country, to contribute to their experience in project writing and execution, to provide solutions for the needs in vocational and technical education. Coşkunöz Education Foundation aims to support future-oriented, value creating, suitable for the local, sustainable, gender equality sensitive, participative projects. CEF provides 100% grant support through the CEVHER Grant Program to projects that have a solution-generating approach and can have a widespread impact.
o Incubation Programs:
Coşkunöz Education Foundation contributes to the development of the entrepreneurship ecosystem as well as the development and employment of professional employees and candidates. For this purpose, it provides training, consultancy, mentoring and initial investment support to entrepreneurs in the Entrepreneurship Program of Istanbul Technical University. It also funds the Edtech Incubation Program at the Education Incubation Center established at the Middle East Technical University. These 2 universities are leaders in the development of the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Turkey, and the country's “unicorn” firms emerge from the incubation centers of these universities.
Scholarship Support:
CEF grants scholarships to an average of 50 successful high school and university students and accommodation scholarships for 25 students each year. In addition, students are offered internships and project studies.
CEF has brought a new vision to the scholarship program with "Care Your Career", which aims to bring a qualified workforce to the business world of the future, besides giving scholarships to 3rd and 4th grade students of engineering faculties, as well as giving them personalized training and mentoring programs so that makes them ready for employment by providing a real work experience opportunity.
o Support to Educational Institutions:
CEF built M.Kemal COŞKUNÖZ Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Bursa Nilüfer district in 1997 and transferred it to the MoNE. The school still continues to develop with the resources of Bursa Coşkunöz Education Foundation. CEF provides technical support to many departments in Uludağ University. Apart from this, it continues to support education by taking part in the Board of Directors of Bursa Tophane Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School Strengthening Foundation. In addition, it provided financial support for the construction of the 300-bed dormitory building of Bursa Contemporary Education Cooperative in Görükle, and the M.Kemal Coşkunöz Male Student Block was gifted to our education world. In order to provide the rehabilitation of orphans, the welding and plumbing workshop of the Bursa Sevgi Village complex was set up and equipped by CEF.
